It already has enough problems putting the power to the ground, fucking fwd with out a lsd. But, me and my dad both think that a GT mid engine rwd swap would be all sorts of a hilarious hoon machine.

But then you end up with a platform which isn't suited to the job, and you'll spend more time dealing with that as opposed to fixing things correctly.

1) Light pressure supercharger on the V6 (to keep the extra power manageable and flatten the power curve)

2) Add limited slip front end. Slight suspension geometry tweaks.

3) Stiffen the subframes. Actually, an argument could be made that should be done first.

4) Still have practical vehicle which is just better.

Yeah, yeah, we know. But, the mid engine minivan is just because racecar idea, nothing else. However we have debated several times that if we were going to put all of that effort into fixing the fwd setup, we would be better off to get a long wheel base crown vic frame and drive train and merge the minivan body on to it. The dimensions are just about a perfect match: length, wheel base, width, and cross-sectional. This would also up the towing capacity and get rid of that spawn of Satan drivetrain design in the Freestar.

I think their hideously ugly, however I can see your point but also rear wheel drive V8 Freestar would be more unique. My dad, on the other hand, hates those with the PASSION OF A THOUSAND BURNING SUNS.
